Service was excellent. Both the chef and host/waitress/cashier were friendly and attentive.The food was really very good. The portions are significant. Well more than what you get in mainstream restaurants or chains.The price was very reasonable for the portion and quality of food.Ordered: Chicken fried chicken (fresh and juicy, breading perfectly portioned) seasoned fries, shrimp and waffle (many jumbo shrimp, cooked well, breaded well), Big Stack ( the largest pancakes ever. Crispy edges, thick with spreadable butter and warm syrup). All yummy!!!Will definitely come back when passing through.

I live 45 miles from this place. Found it by accident. Boy was this a great place to find. The owners run it. Wife is hostess and waitress and husband cooks. Very sweet people!!! The food is amazing. Worth every mile we traveled and worth every penny. Prices are very reasonable. Can’t wait to go back. They get 10000 stars from us. Didn’t have to wait long either.

Food was excellent. I had the catfish, it was perfect. Thick beautiful meat, very clean and cornmeal was made from scratch. Was very impressed the tartar sauce was made from scratch too. My husband had the patty melt and he said it was great. Finally found a place we both love close to home. Owner is from New Orleans and you can tell by his cooking . Grew up in Houston so I love Cajun food. Can't wait to try the red beans and rice, also chicken fried steak. Keep u posted. Y'all definitely need to try this place. Closed Sunday and Monday. Open Tuesday - Saturday 8:30-7. Great prices too. Went back again had the chicken fried steak

Let me tell you about this yummy find! We stumbled upon this gem 2 years ago and they catered our vow renewal. They have a Facebook page that keeps you up to date on daily specials and all the events. I had been drooling over their page for weeks and finally was able to make it in. Well I decided to come by on a Thursday and have lunch. The catfish was fresh and cooked just right. The Mac and cheese and the waffle stole the show!! I love chef scales Mac!And guess what we came right back the next day and had the catfish Opelousas with crawfish sauce. Ooooohhhh and that crab ball is so worth it. I want just a whole plate of them!!

The shrimp in the fried shrimp po'boy was HUGE!! Super tasty with fabulous onion rings. The gravy on the chicken fried steak has a little kick but so good!! The steak was cooked perfectly. The staff was so friendly that I want them to be my family. Love this hidden gem!!

POLITE STAFF, GREAT FOODWe stopped by this Cajun restaurant on our way back from Houston and I barely got the pictures of the best hidden gem of the food world! I can't say enough about this place! You will not be disappointed if you eat here I promise! Everything tasted homemade, made from scratch and that's the best kind of food! We can't wait to stop here again next time we come through McDade!

EVERYTHING we ordered was good to the last drop. OMG it was seasoned to perfection. The owner and his family were so kind. We laughed and talked about the food. If you are looking for good New Orleans style eating...this is the place to visit. The seafood taste like it was fresh out the water, not packaged or processed.Good food and Good people!!
